50/50 2010

Fifty Fifty Twenty Ten ... what is that? To celebrate my 50th birthday, which occurs in 2010, I want to visit all 50 of these United States within the calendar year of 2010. Can I do it? While holding down a full-time job? With my equally adventurous girlfriend Lisa? Creating this blog is the first step in planning this yearlong goal.

I've already been to all 50 states, but it took me 41 years. (Hawaii was a holdout for the longest time!) Now I want to accomplish this within one year. "Visiting all 50 states" will mean, at a minimum, setting foot in each state. No flyovers or drive-throughs.

As 2010 draws nearer, I'll flesh out details and as the travels begin, this blog will serve as a travelogue. I'm excited!
